Did you already wonder why certain companies can offer their bamboo furniture so much cheaper than HIGH TOUCH®?
During the visit of a Balinese company whose products are sold by an agent in Germany as ecofurniture we found extremely dangerous practices:

The constant use of pesticides against bamboo beetles. Cheap for the manufacturer, expensive for your health and the well-being of the involved craftsmen. On the left photograph you can see a boy without any protection mask and gloves spraying bamboo poles with a mixture of Petrol and the pesticide Termiban.
HIGH TOUCH® refuses categorically any from of pesticides for bamboo furniture and uses only products together with physical measures which are completely harmless for your health; but more expensive.
Most manufacturer of bamboo furniture on the Bali Island still use children and adolescents in production, because they can save labor costs, so no wonder the exported products can be sold so cheap abroad.
These jobs without any right-valid contract are paid badly and often far below the legal minimum wage.
Do not offer any hand for such practices with your purchase! Ask exactly about your manufacturer of bamboo furniture and be shure that there are no pesticides and child work involved.
